Can anyone stop Novak Djokovic at Indian Wells?

4th March 2019

World No. 1, Novak Djokovic returns to action for the first time since the Australian Open, looking to regain the Indian Wells title he surrendered last season, and claim the crown for a record-breaking 6th time. The Serbian arrived Indian Wells in 2018 as the three-time defending champion, but it was also his first tournament since he underwent elbow surgery, and was taken out in the opening round by the unheralded Japanese, Taro Daniel. The string of bad results continued until the latter part of the clay-court season, but he launched a spectacular resurgence in the second half of the season, winning Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon and the US Open, and Masters 1000 crowns in Cincinnati and Shanghai. He has begun 2019 in similarly dominant manner, winning the Australian Open following a crushing win over Nadal in the final. Can anyone stop the Serbian at Indian Wells?
