-Inaugurated in 1998, the NRL is the premium Rugby Football League in the world.

-The Telstra Premiership consists of 16 teams from Australia and New Zealand in what is the single most viewed and attended rugby football competition across the globe.

-The NRL Grand Final, which determines the season's premiers, is one of Australia's major sporting events and is one of the largest attended club championship events in the world.

-State of Origin is the annual best-of-three series of rugby league football matches between players that originate from the states of New South Wales and Queensland.  It is touted as Australian sport's greatest rivalry.

-The Rugby League All Stars Match is an annual  rugby league football match between the specially-formed Australian Aboriginal rugby league team and NRL All Stars team.

The National Rugby League (NRL) is the top league of professional Rugby League football clubs in Australasia and is run by the ARL.  The Australian Rugby League Commission is the single controlling body and administrator of the Game.

The Telstra Premiership is made up of 16 sides, 15 from Australia and 1 from New Zealand and culminates in the Premiership-deciding game, the NRL Grand Final.

In addition the NRL champions also compete in the World Club Challenge, a pre-season match against the winners of the Super League.
